In recent months, our elder mediation initiatives have made significant strides in service development. Our visits to elderly homes in Hong Kong and nearby cross-border provinces have deepened our understanding of care services that can benefit older adults with varying care needs. These experiences have highlighted essential aspects of quality care and the importance of tailored support.

We also held an advanced care planning clinic at a shelter for low-income seniors, where we gained valuable insights into the benefits of communal living. This setting revealed the challenges faced by single older individuals and couples who may eventually confront the reality of living alone.

Additionally, our introductory seminars on elder mediation have reached a wide audience, including insurance companies, NGOs specializing in elder and dementia care, home caregiver support, and prevention of elder abuse, as well as educational institutions focusing on nursing care. These sessions have not only raised awareness about elder mediation but have also attracted increased requests for further talks and training.

A key achievement has been forging strong working relationships with various NGOs and negotiating collaborations with applied science research groups focused on elder issues. We are also exploring diverse measures in care and finance that can benefit older adults, particularly those who are single or have significant ties overseas.

Through these activities, we are getting closer to understanding the real needs of older adults and their families, paving the way for more effective support, advocacy, and mediation services. As we continue this vital work, we remain committed to ensuring that the voices of older people are heard and valued, and that the hard work of home caregivers is supported and appreciated.
