“I was able to read more into how elder mediation can be used as an effective tool to balance different priorities between the medical team and patient/patient’s family members and ensure that the elderly adult’s voice is heard, even in regard to extremely difficult and upsetting decisions, such as do-not-attempt PCR orders. It is especially powerful, when coupled with cultural considerations, such as confidentiality/face-saving and voluntariness. More importantly, elder mediation ensures that the elderly person’s family members are aware of all the available options within the city’s healthcare system before resorting to institutional care. As it can be flexibly digitalised, family members who are currently overseas can also be involved within the decision-making process, ensuring that the opinions of all parties are heard……Thank you all for your time and effort writing this paper! I really enjoyed reading it and can’t wait to read more” VA
